A trend in a lot of startups now is to provide a quick demo video about their services. The “demo/features” pages are becoming more and more obsolete. I still have them at both YowTRIP and I-stats, and I think it’s a great way to quickly see if that’s the service you’re looking for… By just looking at the screenshots and you can get an idea if you like it or not. Instead of sitting through a 5+ minutes video.

The video is great to get more information to those visitor who are indeed interested in learning more about your service. So, I decided to make a “YowTRIP Demo” video a couple of weeks ago.

I screen recorded going through the main features, but I had some technical difficulties when it came time to actually record the sound… For some reason I couldn’t get my microphone to work properly on my computer. Determined to finish the video, I searched for other options and I found “Mike” - an AT&T Labs Text-to-Speech guy…

I personally thought he did a good job, demoing YowTRIP… He did mispronounce a couple of words and gave emphasis where he wasn’t supposed to… but got the message across.

Well, on the next day I got emails saying that “the robot dude had got to go.” My content person, Karen volunteered to record it for me… and now we have a new version of the YowTRIP Demo! Enjoy!
