The Guardian Online, a London-based newspaper, writes a weekly column in their travel section called “Going Local.” Since March, freelancer journalist Vicky Baker has been traveling in Central and South America guided by local people she meets on social network sites. This week she visited my hometown: Salvador. I gave her some tips of nice places to go in and near Salvador, which made me homesick She also met a couple of my friends through YowTRIP and mentioned it in her article at the Guardian: http://www.guardian.co.uk/travel/2008/jun/21/brazil.salvador What she has been doing and reporting through Guardian is YowTRIP’s main objective and what we’re trying to enable people to do: Meet locals and other travelers when on vacation. Her next stop is Buenos Aires (One of her favorite cities). |
Salvador is a great town and it’s been almost two years since I was there… definitely way overdue a visit.
