It’s official: I’m moving to MONTREAL! |

Ok, it’s official now. I was waiting until I had a chance to tell people at work before posting something here. (I don’t think anybody at work even reads my blog, but just in case). Well, I was so excited that I couldn’t really wait, so I started telling some co-workers here and there, and apparently they had been spreading the word. When I broke the news yesterday, one of them said “Oh yeah, I heard about it last week!” So, yeah… That’s why I sold my car… And that’s where I bought a one way ticket to! The next couple of weeks will be very busy because I still have some stuff I need to give away / throw away / sell. I’m only bringing a few clothes (I already separated over 30 shirts and pants, about 15 pair of shoes and some extra towels/blankets to take to the Salvation Army) and my computers… Oh yeah, and Aubie. Everything else has got to go! (I don’t have much left since I sold most of my furniture when I moved from Roseville to downtown Sacramento. So, I fly out on September 1st, from Denver to Toronto and then to Montreal. There was a direct flight from Denver to Montreal on Air Canada, but they have an embargo for animals until September 10th, so I ended up having to switch my flight to go through Toronto on United Airlines. I arrive in “La belle ville de Montréal” at 8ish pm. I already have an apartment lined up downtown. So, finally after so many years, I’ll get the big city life I have always wanted… and in my favorite city in the world! So, I’m going to add another post later with more details about what’s going on… Why I’m leaving, what I’m going to do there… and I’m going to send out an update email to my friends with whom I don’t talk on a regular basis… Average temperature in Montreal in September is 60 degrees. I’m so glad I decided to go earlier… I didn’t want to miss the first snow fall! I’m so ready for the cold weather. I’ve had enough hot weather for this lifetime. I realized the other day that I haven’t lived in the same apartment for more than a year since 2001. Even when I stayed in the same town for more than a year (while in school), I managed to change apartments every year. So, here are the cities I’ve lived since the year 2000: Salvador, Auburn, Opelika, Alpharetta, Columbia, Trois-Rivieres, Lyon, Salvador, Roseville, Sacramento, Boulder… I enjoyed all of them (some better than others) and I met a lot of cool people… But now, it’s time to move on again.
