I’ve been pretty busy this past week with the preparations to go to Montreal… (packing, selling stuff and figuring out what to ship)

Well, not only that, but I was also working on the Montreal NewTech Meetup Group website. As you know, I have demoed YowTRIP at the Silicon Valley NewTech (Dec 2007), SF NewTech (Feb 2007), and Boulder NewTech (Feb 2007). These networking events are great to meet other tech entrepreneurs, to see what the local startupcommunity is doing, and to get feedback and find partnerships for your startup.

So, I started reading some Montreal tech blogs andfound out that there wasn’t a NewTech meetup group in Montreal yet. Some people have been organizing several other networking events and I think the NewTech will be a great addition to the tech community of Montreal. So, just wait to see what they’re doing over there!

Today, I bought the Meetup group and launched the website (www.mtlnewtech.com). There are still some tweaking here and there on the website (the French version of the site for example - after all this is Quebec!)

So, for those of you not familiar with the NewTech Meetups, we meet on the first Tuesday of every month and four startups demo their new product/service for five minutes, followed by a five minutes Q&A session.

Well, the first Tuesday of September is on the 2nd… And I’m flying in to Montreal on the 1st, so our first official meetup event will be on October 7th. However, I’m still going to post the event for September as a “Startup Drinks” style. We’ll meet at my favorite bar in Montreal: Brutopia at 7pm.
